Estimating Notes & Clarifications
- Inconel 718 cycle time. 5.20 hrs/pc reflects conservative feeds required for Inconel 718 in a certified aerospace supply context. Aggressive feeds risk tool breakage and scrap on a $182/pc billet — not acceptable at this lot size. Time may be reduced 10–15% after NC optimization trial on first 2 pieces.
- Fixture cost. Fixture design and build cost bundled into Line 2. PMC retains the fixture; it will be used for all future repeat orders of GEA-FNB-LEAP-0042 at no additional charge. Amortized value estimated at $1,850.
- EDM metering slots. Slot width ±0.0002" is within Wire EDM capability of the Mitsubishi MV1200. Critical for fuel flow certification. PMC recommends 100% slot width verification after EDM (included in Line 7 CMM program).
- Material lead time risk. Inconel 718 to AMS 5596 from domestic premium mill: 4–6 week material lead time typical. PMC recommends placing a material pre-order concurrently with PO to protect the 14-day machining lead time commitment.
